We want to make it easy. Return or exchange your L.L.Bean or L.L.Bean Signature items by mail or at any of our stores. No authorization from customer service is required.


Returns or Exchanges by Mail in Two Easy Steps

    • Our preferred shipping option allows you to track your return online and provides fast service, with packages arriving at our facility in 2 to 5 business days. Find a UPS shipping location.
  • Returns sent via US Postal Service arrive at our facility in 3 to 8 business days, depending on your location. No online tracking information is available for packages shipped via US Mail.

    Whether you purchased your item on llbean.com, by mail, by phone or at one of our stores, visit any L.L.Bean Retail Store or Outlet for fast, friendly service.
  • L.L.Bean QuickExchange
    For the fastest service, call Customer Service at 800-441-5713 to request a QuickExchange or simply place a new order online or by phone. We’ll ship your new item right away. We’ll need to charge you the purchase price, but once we receive your return, we’ll credit you for the cost of the original item.
  • Returning Items Delivered by Freight
    If you discover a problem after you’ve accepted delivery, please contact us at 800-341-4341. We may be able to resolve the problem without requiring you to return the item. Please retain all packaging material until you’re completely satisfied with the condition and performance of your purchase. Doing so will make it easier to return the item if necessary.
  • If you do wish to return or exchange a freight item, please contact us at 800-341-4341. We will arrange the return shipment with a freight company.

Free return shipping requires the use of a designated L.L.Bean return label. Free return shipping does not apply to items requiring freight shipping, Direct to Business items or items returned from US Territories or international locations. Free return shipping may be restricted if the number of items returned in the prior one year period exceeds the number of items purchased within that time.
