How to return a gift at Best Buy

We make it simple and convenient to return BestBuy.com purchases. You can return items through the mail, or by visiting your local Best Buy store (so you avoid shipping charges and receive your refund more quickly). Not all products are returnable to the store. If you would like to return a major appliance, TV, accessory or furniture delivered via special delivery, please call Customer Care at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).

Extended Holiday Returns
Gift didn’t quite work out? No problem, because Best Buy
offers an easy, no-hassle return policy for holiday gift purchases.
Holiday Helpline
To ensure your holiday gifts get up and running, the Holiday Helpline at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) entitles recipients of gifts purchased at Best Buy to receive free phone support through January 31, 2010. Of course, you can also call for pre-purchase assistance and gift recommendations.
Holiday Return/Exchange Policy
Gift Purchases made between November 1, 2009 and December 24, 2009 qualify for our Holiday Return policy. Qualifying products may be returned through January 31, 2010.
Terms of our standard policy (including but not limited to “non-returnable items”, “restocking fee”, “carrier contracts”, etc.) apply.
Desktop, notebook, netbook computers, carrier contracts for mobile phones and other 3rd party service providers (i.e. DirecTV contracts) do not qualify for the holiday gift policy.
Geek Squad Black Tie Protection plans returned after 30 days from date of purchase will be refunded at a pro-rated amount.

Non-Returnable Items
Some items are not able to be returned, including:
• Labor, delivery, and/or installation services
• Pre-paid cards such as music, photo, video, or phone cards
• Consumable items such as food, drink and batteries
• Items that are damaged or abused
• Items that are missing accessories, such as remote controls, cords, and cables
• Etched or otherwise personalized items
• Opened computer software, movies, music and video games can be exchanged for the identical item but cannot be returned for a refund
These exceptions are subject to the terms of our standard online return policy.
Returning Items to the Store
- Your packing list/receipt and ID are required.
- Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories with the product to avoid any additional fees.
- Gift with purchase items, quantity discounts and bundle purchases have their own unique return policies.
Returning Items By Mail
- Include all original packing materials, manuals and accessories.
- Include the return label enclosed with your order, and indicate your reason for the return.
- Use the original shipping carton and packing materials, if possible.
Returning Items Purchased in a Magnolia Home Theater Store
You can return items in either of these convenient ways:
- By mail, through the process outlined in the Best Buy Online Return Policy.
- At a Magnolia Home Theater store within a select Best Buy store near you. To ensure you receive the best possible service, Magnolia Home Theater products can be returned to Magnolia Home Theater stores only. Please do not return these items to Best Buy locations without Magnolia Home Theater stores.
